Hi, I take sundown’s brand, since that’s all we carry at work (work at a supermartket). Has like 400 mg, don’t know if that’s all in one capsule or two, since you have to take two at a shot. All I know is, six months AFTER I started taking it in june of 07′, that’s when the loss stopped even though the loss slowed down before that. mine is a berry exctract as wqell but I don’t thinjk it has the other stuff you mentioned in it. there are many varieties but as long as the mg count is high..;.

It is common for a 23 year old to lose hair. I started losing mine around that age too. Its good to look at your family history to see about hair loss. If you chose to get a hair transplant and you have a history of a lot of hair loss..you could possibly need another further down the line.

Propecia is 90% effective on its own. This means that if you take the medication for five years, you have a 90% chance of looking ‘the same’ or ‘better’ than you did when you started. (Of course, if you don’t take Propecia, you have a 75% chance of looking ‘much worse’. It’s all in the long-term clinical studies… Also, there’s prescription versions of minoxidil (rogaine) which are a lot less irritating to the scalp.

There are many ‘treatments’ for hair loss, but my advice to patients is to always stick with the FDA-approved treatments first. The data on Saw Palmetto is really lacking. That’s not to say that it couldn’t work, just more of a long-shot in my opinion. Think about it… if Saw Palmetto really did the same thing as Propecia, there would be the same side effects… the FDA warns women NOT to take saw palmetto.
Have there been any tests regarding what long term Propecia does? It sounds very risky to use a medicine for the rest of your life.

I have been on Propecia for almost 7 months now and its working well for me. It slowed down my shedding and after 6 months it almost stopped it. As far as erectile dysfunction, very small percentage have this side effect, it hasn’t affected me at all.
